Close on the heels of Las Vegas launching its latest television advertising campaign, California has followed suit with a campaign that highlights the state’s beautiful rural destinations. The ad can be found here.
Caroline Beteta, Visit California president and chief executive officer, said “Our new campaign highlights California’s experience-rich and visually stunning rural areas which are eager to roll out the red carpet for visitors. It’s a great compliment to our past campaigns which feature iconic California urban destinations and celebrities.”
Launched nation-wide, the new TV spot showcases the broad range of experiences available throughout the state, from Humboldt County in the north to Palm Springs in the south; hot air balloon above the vineyards of Southern California’s Temecula Valley, surf the perfect wave at Morro Bay on the central California coast or cast a line in Shasta Cascade’s Fall River.
This campaign creates a great opportunity for rural communities to gain entry into new markets by leveraging their cooperative participation with Visit California. The challenge for these small communities is to deliver outstanding visitor experiences and address the leakages in visitor spending in their communities. This is another example of how the State tourism funding model in California is paying statewide dividends.
