My friends Nigel Morgan and Annette Pritchard at the Welsh Centre for Tourism Research (WCTR) in Cardiff are collaborating with several other universities in preparation for the fourth global Destination Branding & Marketing Conference, December 5-7 2012. This conference will gather destination marketing experts from academia, industry and policy to discuss this increasingly important intersection of tourism, economic development, events and heritage management, spatial design, and public diplomacy. Destination branding leaders and innovators from around the world will discuss their experiences regarding opportunities, pitfalls and prospects.
The first three Destination Branding & Marketing Conferences were held in Macau and China. I was honored to have been invited to participate in the second of these. Unfortunately, my
commitments in the USA will not enable me to join my colleagues this year. Reviewing the program, I know that this conference will be an extremely stimulating event. Not to mention those important and long after-dinner debates that I am sure will take place.
It’s not too late to register if you’d like to attend, and I urge you to do so. It will be a great event.

Hi Bill, funnily enough I just posted an article about destination branding on my blog. I would like to learn more about dedtination branding and this conference in Cardiff might be the key starting point. Thanks.
